The monochrome style is preserved in the inscription, consisting of black and white letters. The color palette of the emblem echoes the shade of the beer, so it is designed in brown and gold tones. They are pointed at the ends and have thin white lines on the right side. To convey its beer brand’s unorthodoxy and historical heritage, the company chose a gothic typeface with elongated letters. This is emphasized by the monochrome, the whimsical curves, the pointed ends, and the symbols reminiscent of knives with a long blade (in particular, the letter “f”). The central one bears the full name of the printer: “Peter Schöffer von Gernsheim.” Under the sign is the name of the beer brand, made in gothic style. All three circles have wide border rings. They represent typography elements, in honor of the invention of Schöffer, who designed the typography for the first Bible printed in Europe. To the right and left of the main circle are two smaller circles. The line separating them runs vertically, exactly in the middle. The portrait looks very original because half of the typographer’s head and neck are dark with light strokes, while the other half is light with dark lines. He is positioned in full-face, so he is looking straight ahead. The legendary book printer takes center stage in a large circle against a background of brown and white stripes. The logo of German brewery Schofferhofer naturally depicts its iconic character Peter Schöffer. As a result, the beer, which appeared outside Bavaria, also bears the imprint of historical traditions and cultures, but only in a different way – not conservative, but alternative. Before the master’s arrival, it was called Humbrechthof, and after his arrival, it was renamed Schöfferhof. Not only is the brand named after the medieval innovator, but also the house where he once lived. Schofferhofer wheat beer is brewed in the spirit of Peter Schöffer, which is reflected in the logo. The brewery, too, developed the latest flavors, producing an original brew infused with the earth’s energy, water, fire, and air. It’s a 50/50 blend of Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen beer and natural carbonated grapefruit flavor for a zesty and fizzy taste experience. At every turn, the brand emphasizes the parallel between itself and the printer who invented the typeface for the first Bible published in Europe and suggested a considerable number of progressive typographic techniques. As you might’ve guessed, we’re from Germany, but what might surprise you is that we’re the one of the worlds Hefeweizen grapefruit beer. Its beverage became a new reference point in German brewing culture, representing a recipe innovation. And it is just as Schofferhofer revolutionized wheat beer. As an outstanding specialist, he made a breakthrough in typography. He was a book printer, an odious figure who made an enormous contribution to German cultural and economic life. Despite being a young brand, it is closely linked to the history of Germany because, in the beginning, its production part was based in a building once occupied by a great German figure – Peter Schöffer (1425-1503).

This is especially important if it is necessary to cross the seas. Don't be afraid to have many portals across the map to save travel time with some farming points. So when you want to go somewhere, you just have to type in the number of the desired destination. We advise you to number all your portals and to indicate them on the map each time with their number in all cases. You can even build more if you prefer fixed-destination portals, which eliminates the problem, but is expensive. This will bring up the option to tag the portal or name it, if you will. Then, interact with it by highlighting it and pressing E. We’ll explain how to do that in detail below. unban name Use this to reverse a ban on a player. Or you can build a second portal in your base, which avoids blockages, especially in multiplayer. To use Portals in Valheim and teleport, first, put one down. Here are the console commands you can use to manage your bans: ban name Use this to ban a player. You can either change the marker of your main base in advance, in order to disconnect it from the second portal. You have to anticipate to avoid the problem. If you give the same marker to the third portal, nothing will happen and you will not be able to use it to return. The reason being that you cannot have more than two portals connected by the same marker. Once connected, a player simply has to step into one portal to teleport to the position of the paired portal. Things get complicated from the third portal. You then simply have to cross it to be teleported automatically. When the second portal is built, all you have to do is enter the same marker code to link it to the first portal. For information, all you need is a level 1 workbench within range to build a portal. It is fashionable to go exploring with the appropriate materials in your inventory in order to save time and avoid unnecessary round trips. For more details do not forget to visit our Valheim Wiki Guide for cheats, boss fights, rare resource locations, etc.Your portal is obviously of no use to you until you have built a second one elsewhere. You never know which hidden trick you may unlock like the item duplication glitch. Need more help with other things to collect, build and upgrade in this game? Head over to our Valheim guides. There’s also a Valheim console commandthat gives you the option to teleport so check it out and more cheats in our article. We hope it gives you an idea about how Valheim portals work and how to use them to fast travel. That’s everything on how to teleport in Valheim. If you try to teleport with any item that cannot be teleported, it will be lost from your inventory. Most of the items will be available to be teleported and you will know if a certain material qualifies or not based on its menu description. You can store the stuff you want to transport and luckily, it will let you carry way more than you would be able to before. Keep in mind that you cant place these upgrades too close to each other, so leave plenty of space. Also, take note that keywords/tags are case sensitive so if your portals are not connecting and you are sure that the keyword is correct, check. Only two portals can be connected and they must have the same tag/keyword. To set tags, just press E while your crosshair is pointing at the portal border. To build a Valheim Cart, you need the following materials: Portals are connected via keywords or tags. To make things easier, you can also get a Cart to move your materials over long distances. So, Metals and Ores are the items you cannot teleport with, which means that you have to do it manually. But apart from that, if you manage to create a good connection, you can easily travel through the map without wasting time doing it manually.Īs we mentioned before, you cannot carry some of the resources when you are teleporting like Scrap Iron, Tin ore, Tin, Copper Ore, Bronze and Black Metal Scrap. Troll caves and burial grounds are a couple of such areas. Another thing to remember is that some areas will be out of bounds to create portals in. Then when I got my new machine I had a very clean time machine backup to work with. That resulted in me having the latest and cleanest versions of everything. To put this is context though, before replacing my computer, I did an erase and install where I re-downloaded all software from directly from the respective software companies rather than use the time machine backup. All my 3rd party plugs are working since 10-11-1. I was worried but, apart from a problem with my Nectar P1 not liking El Capitan, all else within Logic is fine. Personally I was forced into being an early adopter because of purchasing a new computer that came with El Capitan pre-installed. And there are a few other non-logic related problems as well. But I do agree that the behaviour of both my magic mouse and my track pad were better under Yosemite. If anything the Kontakt libraries are loading quicker. My question is this is there any way I can force the new machine to completely revert to my time machine back up, including Yosemite? Sorry for asking this question on this site but I’ve learned that the Apple advisors, even the senior pro app advisers, rarely know how to answer questions related to 3rd party plugins. I also don’t have the option of reinstalling Yosemite from the apt store because it was never originally downloaded from there. This may have something to do with the fact that my current machine created the time machine backups and is a few generations earlier than the new machine. What I’m hearing is that there may be firm-ware issues that will prevent the new MacBook Pro from running Yosemite, or at least the version of Yosemite that’s installed on my current computer. My new computer will ship with El Capitan pre installed. Zebra 2, Bazille, Zebraette, Uhbik effects, Waves Silver, Sonalksis Free G, Izotope Ozone 5, Amplitube 3, Melodyne singletrack. Native instruments Komplete 10 plus Scarbee J Bass, Strummed Acoustic and Razor. All of them are the latest updates as of about a week ago. These are the 3rd party AU plugins I currently have installed and validated within Logic 10.2. Yes I know that the recent 10.11.1 update is supposed to fix that, but obviously some problems remain. It is my preferred operating system because I run a lot of 3rd party AU plugins some of which are not currently compatible with El Capitan. This machine is failing and must be replaced, but that also means that my time machine backups are all Yosemite. At present I have a three-year-old MacBook Pro running Yosemite. In few weeks I will be taking delivery of a new MacBook Pro. It’s a very nice way to find and engage with classical music. Breaking away from the simple ‘song-album-artist’ scheme to get more advanced metadata (works, composers, ensembles, conductors) is not just welcome, but handled very well in the app. This evening, I got my notification to download Apple Music Classical, which I’ve been eagerly awaiting for awhile now. On the former two, you can play the “real” game without paying anything, though you’ll want to pay when you play a bit to really get your fix and develop your muscles with the access to additional puzzles. It’s available on iOS and Android and even Steam. Some might say it’s cheating, but I like to play with the ‘Correct Word Feedback’ setting, rather than the default ‘valid.’ Maybe one day, I’ll play it the real way, but for now, I enjoy it with that setting enough to rack up a 474-day streak. Knotwords is a word game that is like a crossword puzzle that’s about unscrambling words, rather than solving clues. I would have to go through each file individually, making changes on one master file. When the betas were finished with comments, I would receive 4 separate files back from them.Once each reader received their file, I would then have to wait for them to finish the entire document (which could take days) before they sent it back to me to start my own edits and changes. If I were using Scrivener or Word, I would most likely have to wait until I was completely finished with my edits before I sent the completed beta-ready file to each of the 4 of those readers. I use a minimum of 4 beta readers on each novel and story I write. Here’s what the process would look like using something without online collaboration features: The level of collaboration inside Google Docs is awesome.Īs a publishing writer who uses beta readers and input from others in my editing process, Google Docs saves me weeks per projects. Okay, so if all that wasn’t enough to convince you that Google Docs is an amazing option for writing software, maybe my third reason will pull you over to my way of thinking. I just have to pull up Google Docs and start writing, anytime, anywhere, any device. I don’t have to worry about whether I have the most up-to-date file on my device. I never have to save to a jump drive or email my work to myself and then try to dig it up later. This in itself is reason enough for me to love writing in Google Docs. Even if I don’t have access to my own computer or device, I can visit a friend and as long as I have my Google password, I could sign in on her device and start writing on her computer. No matter if I’m working on my tablet, phone, PC, or my Chromebook, I can very easily access my document. All without me ever having to worry about saving the document. That means that I can write a few chapters at home on my PC, get up and run my son to the dentist, pull up my novel on my phone while I’m waiting for him to be done, write a few more paragraphs starting where I left off earlier at home. This is another biggie! Because Google Docs is a cloud-based program, you can literally access it from any device that can connect to the internet. These days, though, I’m so rarely offline that this isn’t a concern for me. At that point, it will sync with your cloud and back up what you wrote while you were offline. You can also use Google Docs when you’re offline, in which case, it will save to your current device until you connect to the internet. It’s practically impossible, and that makes using Google Docs as your primary writing software the best choice if you’re worried about losing pieces of your novel. So, unless the worst happens and Google’s servers go down entirely (in which case, it’s probably already the apocalypse, so who cares about your novel, anyway), you can’t lose your work. And it’s not just saved to your device, which might be prone to crashes or unexpected catastrophes. So if the power blinks or lightning strikes, you have everything saved automatically. Google Docs literally saves every keystroke as you make it. When I discovered the beauty of Google Docs and its constant auto-save to the cloud, I was hooked. It wasn’t easy to switch between devices with a program like Scrivener or Word (at least it wasn’t several years ago). I write on a laptop when I’m out, and I write on my PC when I’m at home. This may not be an issue if you’re always writing on the same device, but I am a multiple-device kind of person. When I was using Scrivener, I was constantly losing snippets and getting confused about which file was the most recent file. And, of course, even when you rewrite those lost chapters, you always wonder if the first round wasn’t completely brilliant in comparison, amiright? I have had files get corrupted and lost in the past, and it was the most heart breaking experience for me. I want to cry and pull my hair out just thinking about it. If you’re a fellow author, you know that one of the absolute worst things that can happen to you when you’re in the middle of a novel is losing your work. From a broadside flat advancing line of digital soldiers, into a single file pulse chain like all the soldiers running along one behind another, in single file. Ok, each RS232 serial port, you see, takes the 32 bits (8 and 16 bits in days gone by) your computer exchanges across its data bus then turns them sideways. Oh my god! What a sweeping statement I'd better get on and explain why, otherwise I'll be swamped with emails from people telling me "NO THEIR NOT". No matter whatever the name and standard, all serial ports are the same, at least from a functional point of view. RS232 9 Pin D type and 25 pin D type connectors.Ī bit of serial communications background. Hence it was shrunk to the 9 pin connector over time. Larger connectors were needed because the datasets and terminals probably carried more signals and power than they do now. Of course I jest, the 25 pin RS232 connector is mearly legacy from the early days of RS232 serial communications. I guess they felt like giving the data lines a bit more room to stretch out, perhaps it's the RS232 pinouts equivalent of flying first class! You can see the RS232 serial port pinout numbers are different for the 9-pin and the 25-pin type connections. The table below, although it does looks a bit boring I'll agree, actually says what the RS232 serial port pinouts designation is. Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) is a dumb as hell name for a genre of games that are at this point mostly Defense of the Ancients ( DOTA) clones with different skins that are designed to entice different groups of players into signing up. Here’s where I digress for far longer onto MOBA as a name for a genre of games. Instead, it’s all or nothing for many games developed for many English-speaking audiences. The fault of games like Infinite Crisis and others that are inevitably shut down is usually in creating an unsustainable environment for the level of success they could have if their cost to operate the game on a continuing basis were lower. Well, maybe not quite that many for the Vita, but that platform has been a great home for smaller downloadable handheld games.īriefly mentioned in Aleksander’s article are other free-to-play games that have found some level of success, obviously short of World of Warcraft, but well enough to keep some companies going. What do all of these consoles have in common? They were declared failures by some press despite selling tens of millions of consoles and millions of games. Another example of this is the bizarre attitude around the GameCube or other Nintendo platforms from the past 15 years that aren’t the Wii, or the Sony handhelds Playstation Portable and Vita. A lot of them keep failing, and the price of failure is steep – layoffs and studio shutdowns.Īleksander’s article is like so many others in assuming that there is no success possible for these MOBA and FPS games that isn’t multi-million dollar home-run success.
